In this new talk, I address the unique challenges faced by photographers with 15 or more years of professional shooting experience; they’re usually baby boomers who’ve built their businesses in an entirely different media landscape.
The sheer volume of information they needed to learn (e.g., PhotoShop and digital asset management) often took precedence during their transition from an all-film photo business to digital imaging business—usually in the midst of a busy shooting schedule. This severe time-crunch left many without the essential knowledge necessary to create an effective online presence.
This talk will fill in the missing pieces.
During the Q&A portion: Ask the questions you were afraid to ask about online marketing; the ones you’ve not asked because you didn’t want to be met with sighs, eye-rolling, or “geek speak.”
I will also being doing a limited number of photographer’s portfolio/web reviews on Wed. 6/25 & Thurs. 6/26. For more information click here.
Early bird-discounts are available. Call me (312-560-6400) for details. And you might also want to check back here for updated information.

PORTFOLIO REVIEW SESSIONS:
Portfolio Power. The Plan for High Performing Portfolios.
I will also be scheduling a limited number of portfolio review sessions and business development strategy sessions on May 10th and May 11th, 2007 in St. Louis (scheduling info below; location info provided when you book your session)
Established Photographers:
In a 1-hour session, I will edit your book based on who you’d like to work for.
I’ll reorder your images for maximum impact. You’ll find out what’s working and what isn’t. In today’s world of portfolio drop-offs or website-review-only, there is rarely an opportunity for a photographer to find out if their book/site is missing the mark and if so, how. Over the years, I’ve gotten to hear the REAL feedback from buyers. As a rep, I get to hear what that they would not be comfortable revealing to the photographers– so I know what they really are thinking.
****Clients I’ve worked with in the past 12 months have experienced increases in their billings any where from 20% to 700%. Invest just an hour of your time and find where you may be leaving money on the table.
Emerging Photographers:
For those of you who are unsure of where to market your work, I will suggest markets and give you some feedback as to what else you may need for your book to be more effective in reaching those buyers.
EXISTING CLIENTS: If you’ve already had a session with me, made a
commitment to redo your book, get going on a marketing plan, but are
not quite where you want to be yet, then consider scheduling a BUSINESS
STRATEGY SESSION for a “Marketing Tune-Up”
In this session I can:
1. Give you the most up-to-date ways to leverage your sales and marketing efforts.
2. Analyze where you may have overlooked opportunities in your quest to land the accounts you want.
PRICING and SCHEDULING:
While I would love to review all who request this valuable one-on-one review session**, I am limited to 6 sessions per day. I need to be able to give as much as I can to those who are committed to investing in their career development.
To sign up for a session, please call me at 312-560-6400
OR send an email to carolyn[at]cpotts[dot]com
FEE: $250/1 hr. session for established photographers with 10% donation being returned to your local ASMP chapter (special pricing for this ASMP event only; sessions are normally priced at $250/hr.with a 2-hr. minimum) $225.00
If you already know the value of investing in your career by getting an objective viewpoint from an industry insider, there is an EARLY-BIRD discount available for you.

The private sessions will take place locally. Exact location details later. Easy Payment is available by check or by credit card via my PayPal account. Write for those details.
Please note, in previous workshops, after people attended the event, I was not able to accommodate all those who wanted to schedule sessions. So if you’re thinking you’d like to schedule a session, I encourage you to book NOW to guarantee your space and save yourself some money at the same time!
SPECIAL SESSION:
I will also be offering a “gang session” limited to emerging/student photographers. In this group session, you will present your portfolios en masse–just like what happens in most agency review sessions. You will hear feedback on each book and I guarantee that what I say to one of your colleagues, will be of great benefit to you as well. Get lots of insight in a single session. A real value as you begin your career.
Session fee: $100/participant.
TO SIGN UP FOR ONE OF THESE SESSIONS: CALL me directly at 312-560-6400 OR send an email to me carolyn[at]cpotts[dot]com
